Hello,
Welcome to the Mathematics and Science Teacher Academy Blog.
Take a moment to share with us the Technology Saturday Seminar that has been most effective in improving the instruction in your Mathematics or Science classroom; or that you plan on using in your classroom.
How did your students respond to this method of instruction or to the technology tool?
What were some of the benefits? Were there some problems?
I have enjoyed using the games (tic tac toe and concentration). My students enjoyed playing these games and they are a great way to review!
ReplyDeleteI am planning on woring on blogging on my website and having the students converse during computer lab about what we are learning. My only problem is getting them all profiles.
I am currently using vodcasts andpodcasts for my class. I have some posted on my webpagefor the students to get helpwith somephysics concepts. I have created a wikipageanda blogfor my students. I really like the games that we have learned in this class. I really love the calculator software. It is amazing and I can see it using very effectively in my physics class.
ReplyDeleteI've used more powerpoints in my classroom. A week ago the students all made their own powerpoint with music embedded as a culminating assessment of our unit on changes over time. The students then presented to each other. They were excited because we invited the principal and assistant principal. I have plans to post them to their wiki page. They are also going to be shown during luch so that other classes may see. They always ask about what I'm learning in class. They've been excited about it all.
ReplyDeleteI can say that I'm getting something out of each Saturday class that I've attended. I liked turning powerpoints into movies. My third graders will enjoy the games when I start getting them together. They've seen one of the powerpoints and really liked it. I haven't used any of the games with them yet because I have to sit down and make some. The benefits of this technology are that my students will get opportunities to review concepts that are more fun than filling out a worksheet. The only problem is time to make these activities. (and that's my problem!) I'm really enjoying this seminar!!
ReplyDeleteI plan to use as many games as I can for TAKS review. I already do powerpoints in the classroom and the students seem to enjoy it.
